Do you often have negative thoughts, and nothing seems like it can ever go right in your life? If so then take a moment to learn about these 9 Daily Habits for a Powerful Positive Mindset that will elevate your mental health in no time!
9 Daily Habits for a Powerful Positive Mindset

1. Don’t Sleep in
Not only will you miss a few hours of your day when you sleep in, but you will also feel lethargic and unready to start your day, which unproductively keeps you lying longer in bed. This further perpetuates the feeling of lethargy, making it progressively difficult to get out of bed. See your mornings as a new opportunity to become better than you were the day before.
Regardless of how you feel, you have the privilege to reinvent yourself and make the present day a better one. Rising before/with the sun will set you up for success, right from the get up (pun intended).
2. Give Thanks
You’re finally up; great! First thing first, express gratitude. This is the best thing that you can do of the 9 daily habits for a powerful positive mindset to start your day off feeling like something matters. Writing down or mentally expressing gratitude for some things that you are grateful for may be a simple task, but it is very powerful!
This not only brings you a sense of ease and peace of mind, but it is also a key part of the process of manifestation. Being grateful opens up the door to many more to be grateful for; as I like to say “The more you are grateful, the more there is to be grateful for. Gratitude begets gratitude.”
3. Resist the Urge to Use Your Phone
We’ve all been guilty of this (jumping on our phones/devices the moment we wake up) at some point in our lives (I know I have). I know it can be very tempting to grab your phone the second you wake up to start scrolling, whether it is on social media, a mobile game, or even to start working. Whatever your reasoning is, resist the urge.
Here’s why: when you first wake up in the morning from a good night’s rest, you don’t just rest and that’s it, no. You undergo a “software update,” similar to that of mobile phones and other devices, through which you receive certain downloads from the Universe/Source/God. Receiving the downloads is one thing. However, you also have to process them, which is best done shortly after waking, uninterrupted.
You can process them by centering yourself via meditation, which is the next habit of the 9 Daily Habits for a Powerful Positive Mindset.
4. Center Yourself with Meditation
There are a million and one things to do from the moment your eyes grace reality every morning you wake up until they are once again closed as you drift off into the dream realm; I can totally relate. But, is it not better to take on all these things when you are more relaxed, focused, and centered within your being? Of course! You will undoubtedly be more effective, efficient, and productive in whatever task you tackle.
Tapping into your inner being with meditation before you start consuming outside “content” will set you up for success as your day progresses. Instead of scrolling on your devices, take a moment to be still, inviting Divine insight into your consciousness. A meditation a day keeps stress at bay.

5. Talk to Yourself
And no, this is not the first sign of madness. Relax, you’ll be fine. When I say “talk to yourself,” I mean speaking positive words of affirmation into your being to reprogram your subconscious mind. This will, in turn, start to shape your habits, which will, ultimately, shape your life.
How you speak to yourself is how you will treat yourself. Ensure that you are speaking life into your being with every word that you utter because it does matter. How you speak to yourself is how you will speak to your partner, children, parents, friends, etc.
Let every word that leaves your mouth be words of love, peace, Joy, positivity, and gratitude.
6. Engage in Mindful Movement
As the old saying goes, “If you don’t use it, you lose it.” it holds very true when it comes to your body. The more you exercise/train your body the stronger it gets (hypertrophy). On the other hand, your body will enter a state of atrophy (wasting away of cells, tissues, organs, and body parts) if your body realizes that you are not using it as was intended by creation.
“Does this mean that I have to exercise 7 days a week?” No. Exercising at least three to four times per week is a great start on which you can build. Start where you’re at; there is no pressure to go from 0-7 days. Take it a step at a time.
7. Hug Someone You Love
Outside of the fact that hugs make you feel safe, loved, and cared for, there is research evidence that shows that hugging reduces blood pressure and reduces the release of cortisol, which reduces stress. It also improves cardiovascular function and sleep and releases oxytocin, known as the “feel-good” hormone, making you feel happier.
So if you ever wondered why you have feelings of happiness all of a sudden when you hug someone (especially someone close), oxytocin is one of the reasons for this. The next time you are feeling down hug someone, and feel the love.
8. Stay Hydrated
While sleeping for 6-8 hours during the night you are not drinking any water that entire time, which means that you are already in a “hydration deficit.”
Dehydration, especially when prolonged, can be very detrimental to your health in many ways; some of which include headache, exhaustion, lightheadedness, and a lack of focus.
Drinking 16-32 ounces of water soon after waking, and adequately throughout the day will rehydrate your body so that it can function optimally. Stay hydrated!
9. Get Adequate Sleep
Going to bed early is the recipe for success when it comes to getting adequate sleep. The earlier you go to bed, the more key hours (10-2) you will sleep, which is when the body is doing a lot of deep repair, recovery, and replenishing of energy that has been used during the day.
This habit flows directly into the first habit and is the most crucial of the 9 Daily Habits for a Powerful Positive Mindset because if you don’t get adequate sleep and you sleep in as a result and now you’re “too tired” to get up early, you have already created unnecessary obstacles for yourself.
Create a routine around sleep, and the rest of the activities within your routine will productively fall into place.
Final Thoughts
Creating an efficient, effective, and productive routine by establishing these 9 Daily Habits for a Powerful Positive Mindset will create lasting change in your life. How you end today is how you will start tomorrow. End it on a high vibrational note (pun intended), with positive energy, and with pure loving intention.
Make your self-care a daily priority; your mind, body, and soul will thank you!
Take great care of your mental health because your life depends on it.
Blessings to you.
